President Xi Jinping’s upcoming visit to Russia reflects close cooperation between China and Russia,
which is important to maintain the stability of the international community amid rising uncertainties, analysts said.
Xi will make a state visit to Russia from June 5 to 7 and attend the 23rd St. Petersburg
International Economic Forum, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang announced on Wednesday.
The trip is part of the annual exchange of visits between the two countries’
heads of state, after Russian President Vladimir Putin attended the Second Belt and Road Fo
rum for International Cooperation in Beijing in April and had talks with Xi on the sidelines.
China would like to have a shared planning process with Brazil to achieve coordinated development, President Xi Jin
ping said on Friday during a meeting with Brazilian Vice-President Hamilton Mourao at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
Calling the two countries highly complementary, Xi said China welcomes Brazil’s participation in the building of the Belt and Road.
He said China supports the prosperity and development of B
razil and believes that China-Brazil cooperation will produce great outcomes.

The US government’s bullying behavior and maximum pressure regime on China violate mu
ltilateral trade rules, ministry spokesman Gao Feng said at a regular news conference.
The office of the United States Trade Representative proposed to take further action by imposing 25 percent of addition
al tariffs on Chinese imports with an annual trade value of approximately $300 billion. The USTR is seek
ing comment and will hold a public hearing regarding the proposed modification on June 17.
Gao said the impact of US tariffs imposed on Chinese products starting last year was “completely controllable.”
Investigation underway to find out cause of fire that claimed 41 lives at Moscow airport
President Xi Jinping extended condolences to his Russian counterpart Vladimir
Putin on Monday over the victims of a fire on a passenger plane on Sunday in Moscow.
The landing plane was engulfed in flames, leaving at least 41 dead on Sunday at Sheremetyevo Airport.
Xi said in his message that he was shocked that the plane burst into flames as it ma
de an emergency landing at Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow, which led to major casualties.
On behalf of the Chinese government, the Chinese people and himself, Xi extended deep co
ndolences to the victims and his sincere sympathy to the bereaved families and the injured.
Also on Monday, Premier Li Keqiang sent a condolence message to Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev over the accident.

Peng Yuxing, vice-governor of Southwest China’s Sichuan province, is under disciplinary and supe
rvisory investigation for suspected severe violations of disciplines and laws, an official statement said Sunday.
The investigation is being conducted by the Communist Party of China Central Co
mmission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission.
